Early Patek Philippe Calatrava models were defined by compact cases and 6 o’clock sub-seconds. This Ref.3411 from the 1950s–60s marks the brand’s classic-to-modern turning point. Keeping iconic Calatrava details — round case, baton hands, beaded minute markers — it introduces a clean central seconds hand and a bold 35mm case, pioneering the modern Calatrava aesthetic. ✨
The highlight is its original Stern black enamel dial, a rare and labor-intensive art once mastered by only a few elite brands. Patek Philippe was the only one to use it widely. Crafted with hand-engraving, enamel filling, repeated high-temperature firing and polishing, this technique was discontinued in the late 1960s. Aged to a soft creamy tone, the dial reflects light gently through its raised beaded markers, expressing quiet luxury.
Powered by the prestigious Cal.27SC manual movement, this is a genuine in-house central-second caliber — not a modified sub-second movement. It features a screw balance, swan-neck regulator, Breguet hairspring, 18 jewels, 18,000 vph, double Geneva Seal, and 5-position temperature adjustment. Produced 1949–1970, it remains one of the most respected vintage dress watch movements.
This Ref.3411 has been fully authenticated. All functions work perfectly; the original enamel dial and buckle are in excellent condition.
