To celebrate 175 years of watchmaking in Glashütte, NOMOS introduced the Tangente 38 Datum limited series in 31 vibrant colorways—one for each day of the month—with 175 pieces per color.
This “Flamingo Pink” is one of them. Its main dial presents a warm pink-orange tone, reminiscent of coral—soft, even, and finished with a delicate matte texture. The outer minute track is rendered in a lighter shade, as if gently faded from the base color, forming a subtle halo around the dial. At 6 o’clock, the vivid orange small seconds subdial delivers a striking “contrast pop”—a highly saturated accent that cuts cleanly through the softer background.
The entire dial reads like a radiant dopamine color palette, layering tones of varying brightness. In the typically restrained world of German watchmaking—dominated by monochrome and understatement—this piece feels like a warm beam of light breaking through convention, impossible to ignore.
This lightness extends beyond color into the details. The Arabic numerals are printed in blue, creating a cool contrast against the warm dial, while their slightly geometric forms lend a sense of playful clarity. The minute hand is deliberately elongated, sweeping across the dial like a single, confident stroke.
The date aperture at 6 o’clock appears unusually expansive—made possible by the thoughtful architecture of the movement. Powered by the NOMOS DUW 4101, the date ring is positioned at the outermost edge of the movement, allowing the date window to open closer to the dial’s perimeter. The result is a more spacious, open display. This construction is patented and has become a signature feature of NOMOS date watches.
