Today we present the Tudor Black Bay Ref. 79680—a model that carries forward the spirit of Tudor’s diving heritage while adapting seamlessly to the rhythm of modern urban life. The stainless-steel case features a screw-down crown and caseback, continuing the classic Tudor Oyster-style construction. With water resistance rated to 100 meters, it is more than capable of handling everyday wear, leisure diving, and water-based activities.
Inside beats the Tudor MT5601 automatic movement, COSC-certified for chronometer accuracy. It offers an impressive 70-hour power reserve and excellent resistance to magnetic fields, ensuring stable and reliable performance even under demanding conditions.
The dial is fitted with Tudor’s most iconic signature—the Snowflake hands. First introduced in the 1970s for watches supplied to the French Navy, this bold hand design was created for superior legibility in low-light underwater environments and has since become a defining element of Tudor’s dive watch identity.
What sets the Ref. 79680 apart is its thoughtful balance between tool-watch heritage and refined modern aesthetics. To better suit daily city wear, Tudor omitted the traditional rotating dive bezel, replacing it with a polished and satin-finished stainless-steel bezel that gives the watch a cleaner, more streamlined appearance. The usual fabric strap is also replaced by a five-link “dress-style” bracelet, lending the watch an added sense of elegance and composure.
The choice of dial color further reflects this design philosophy. Compared to the more common black dials or red-bezel variants, the steel-blue dial of the Ref. 79680 feels calmer and more restrained, projecting a cool, understated sophistication.
